Aluminium Shed Ramp for Easy Mower and Equipment Access
A shed lip is a small thing until you are the one pushing a mower over it. The wheels catch, the machine tips, and a two minute job turns into a shove and a lift you would rather not do again. The Shed Ramp with punch plate surface is a single aluminium plate that hooks over the shed floor edge and gives you a firm, high-traction slope to roll up instead of a lip to fight. No fixings, no assembly, no drilling. Each ramp covers one wheel track, so order a quantity of 2.
Light Enough to Move, Strong Enough to Leave There
Each ramp is made from high-strength aluminium and weighs 5kg, so one hand is enough to set it down or lift it out of the doorway. It carries a Safe Working Load of 340kg, and aluminium does not rust, so it can sit out through rain and sun without turning into a job you have to maintain.
Punch Plate Surface for Grip in Any Weather
The deck is punched with raised holes across the full surface, which gives tyres and boots something to bite into when the ramp is wet or muddy. It is the same idea as tread plate, with the added benefit that water, grit and grass clippings fall straight through instead of sitting on top of the ramp.
Please Order Two: One for Each Wheel
This ramp is priced and sold as a single piece, and a single piece is one wheel track. To drive anything up it you need a pair, so set the quantity to 2 before you add it to your cart. Ordering one leaves you with half a ramp and a machine you still cannot get into the shed.
Once you have the pair, you can set them up two ways:
- Bolted together: Pre-drilled holes let you join the two into one continuous 122cm wide surface, which suits ride-on mowers, wheelbarrows and lawn equipment.
- Spaced apart: Set them to match your wheel track for an ATV or UTV, so each wheel gets its own ramp.
Will This Suit My Shed?
This is a low-step ramp for a shed slab, a garage floor edge or a trailer-height timber floor. It is not a loading ramp for a ute tray or a truck bed, and it is not long enough to bridge a full step up to a porch or a landing.
Two things decide whether it suits your setup:
- The height of your shed lip. The supplier lists the ramp height at 5cm at the raised end, so it is built for a low floor edge. If your shed floor sits higher than that, the top of the ramp will not meet it flush and you will be left with a lip at the top, which is worse than the one you started with. Contact us and we will point you to a longer ramp instead.
- The weight going over it. The 340kg Safe Working Load covers the machine plus anything on it, and plus the rider if you are driving it up. A ride-on mower with a rider is usually well inside that. A loaded UTV may not be, so check the weight before you commit.
Worked from the 74cm length and the 5cm height, the slope comes out at roughly 1:14. That is a gentle climb by ramp standards, which is why it works for wheeled equipment that has no clearance to spare.
How to Measure Before You Buy
- Measure the shed floor height. Rest a tape measure flat on the ground outside the doorway and measure straight up to the top of the shed floor or slab. Measure the floor itself, not the door track or the frame.
- Check the ground outside. Gravel, soft lawn or a path that falls away from the shed will change how the ramp sits. It needs firm, reasonably level footing at the bottom edge.
- Measure your wheel track. For an ATV or UTV, measure across the outside of the tyres on one axle. That tells you how far apart to space two ramps.
- Measure your doorway width. A pair joined together needs 122cm of clear opening. Spaced apart, each ramp needs 61cm at its own wheel track.
- Check the approach. You need enough flat, clear run-up in front of the doorway to line up straight before the wheels reach the ramp.
Match your measurements against the table below before you order.
