A wide, sturdy shower chair for larger users

The Bariatric Shower Chair with Arms 250kg lets you shower sitting down, with a 56cm space between the arms and a lightweight aluminium frame rated to 250kg. The seat height adjusts from 41.5cm to 56.5cm, and the side bars give you something firm to hold as you sit down and stand up.

Shower seated, with support on both sides

Standing through a whole shower can be tiring and the floor can be slippery. A shower chair lets you wash seated, which gives you more comfort and stability and helps lower the chance of a slip or fall.

Room to sit comfortably

The arms sit 56cm apart, which leaves more room at the hips than a standard shower chair. The seat has a backrest to lean on, and drainage holes so water runs away instead of pooling under you.

Set to the right height

Each leg adjusts in 25.4mm steps between 41.5cm and 56.5cm, so you can set the seat at a height that suits getting up and down. Non-slip rubber tips help keep the chair steady on the shower floor.

Features

  • 250kg weight capacity: lightweight aluminium frame with a powder coat finish.
  • Wide 56cm seating space: measured between the arms.
  • Side bars: support you while lowering onto and rising from the seat.
  • Height adjustable: 41.5cm to 56.5cm in 25.4mm increments.
  • Drainage holes: in the seat to reduce water build up.
  • Non-slip tips: slip resistant feet on every leg.
  • Light to move: the chair weighs 4.5kg.

Is this bariatric shower chair right for you?

  • Usually suits: larger users up to 250kg, and anyone who can't stand for long periods in the shower and wants a wide seat with arms.
  • Check first: the chair's base is 74cm wide and 51cm deep. Measure your shower floor and the shower door opening before you order.
  • Not designed for: use as a toilet seat or commode. It has no toilet opening or wheels.

We recommend speaking with your healthcare provider or occupational therapist if you're unsure which shower chair suits you.

Choosing the right fit

  1. Check the weight capacity. The user's weight must be under 250kg.
  2. Check the hip width. Sit on a firm chair and measure across the widest part of the hips. The space between the arms is 56cm and the seat itself is 44cm wide.
  3. Check the seat height. With your feet flat on the floor and knees at about a right angle, measure from the floor to the back of the knee. The seat adjusts from 41.5cm to 56.5cm.
  4. Check your shower. The chair needs a floor area of at least 74cm x 51cm.
