A wide, sturdy wheelchair built for larger users
The Bariatric Steel Wheelchair 60cm Seat 220kg gives larger users a roomy 60cm seat on a powder coated steel frame rated to 220kg. Flip up armrests, swing away footrests and quick release rear wheels make transfers and transport easier, and anti-tippers come fitted for extra stability.
Room to sit comfortably on a frame you can trust
A standard wheelchair can feel tight across the hips and leave you unsure of the frame. This one is built wider and stronger, with a double cross bar under the seat and a 60cm wide seat that gives you space to sit naturally. The 3cm foam padded seat and backrest add comfort for everyday use.
Easier transfers
The armrests flip up out of the way, so you can slide across from a bed, chair or car seat from the side. The footrests swing away and the footplates flip up, which clears the space in front of the chair when you stand up or sit down.
Self propelled and ready for outings
Large rear wheels with hand rims let you push yourself along, and the solid PU tyres mean no punctures. The rear wheels are quick release, and the frame folds to 32cm wide for the car boot.

Is this bariatric wheelchair right for you?
- Usually suits: larger users up to 220kg who need a wider seat and a strong steel frame for everyday use at home or out and about.
- Check first: your weight must sit within the 220kg capacity, and the chair needs to suit your needs and abilities. Measure doorways at home, as the chair is 79cm wide overall.
- Take care with accessories: adding a cushion or other accessory can change the chair's centre of gravity and make it more likely to tip. Always check an accessory suits the chair before you use it.
We recommend speaking with your healthcare provider, therapist or carer before choosing a wheelchair.
Choosing the right fit
- Check the weight capacity. The user's weight must be under 220kg.
- Check the seat width. The seat is 60cm wide. Sit on a firm chair and measure across the widest part of the hips. If you're unsure whether 60cm will fit, email us the measurement and we'll help.
- Check the seat height. The seat sits 50cm off the floor, with a 43cm seat depth.
- Check your doorways and car. It's 79cm wide when open and 32cm wide folded.
