An AED Cabinet You Can Check On Without Walking Over to It
The CardiAct Connect AED Cabinet is a wall-mounted defibrillator cabinet you build to suit your site. Start with the 200 Series secure cabinet, or step up to the 300 Series with 4G monitoring that reports when the door opens or the AED is taken out. Then add a push-to-dial telephone, a keypad lock, a camera and heating/cooling as needed. All 24 configurations are listed below, so you can match one exactly to your site.
Lead time: Special order item. Dispatch time depends on the configuration you choose:
- In stock: CC-210H and CC-320CH
- Approximately 90 days for dispatch: CC-200H, CC-210, CC-220H, CC-230H, CC-300CH, CC-310CH and CC-330CH
- Approximately 2 days for dispatch: all other configurations
Choose Your Configuration
Three selections give you every model in the range:
- Monitoring: the 200 Series is a secure cabinet with no connectivity. The 300 Series connects to the 4G network and sends notifications when the door is opened or the AED is removed. A built-in security camera is available on 300 Series models only, because it works through the online monitoring.
- Telephone & Lock: add a push-to-dial phone so whoever opens the cabinet can call for help, a keypad lock to control access, or both.
- Heating/Cooling: keeps the air around the AED at a steady temperature. Worth considering if the cabinet will sit somewhere that gets very hot or cold.
Which CardiAct Connect Model Is Right for You?
Work through these four questions and you will end up with one model number. Our team asks the same questions when helping customers over the phone.
1. Where will the cabinet be mounted?
Outdoors, in direct sun, or anywhere that gets very hot or cold, choose a model with heating/cooling (model numbers ending in H). Extreme temperatures can damage an AED's battery and electrode pads, which means the AED may not work when someone needs it. Indoors in a temperature-controlled building, you can skip heating/cooling.
2. Will someone nearby notice if the cabinet is opened?
At a staffed reception, front counter or office, a 200 Series cabinet is enough, because people on site will hear the alarm and see the light. For outdoor public-access walls, after-hours sites, sports grounds, apartment lobbies and remote locations, choose the 300 Series. Its 4G monitoring tells you when the door opens or the AED is removed, so you know to check the AED, replace the pads after a rescue, or follow up a theft.
3. Is theft or vandalism a concern?
If not, you don't need a lock or a camera. A keypad lock stops casual tampering, but anyone who needs the AED in an emergency also needs the code, so plan how the code will be shared before you choose one. A keypad lock works best paired with the push-to-dial telephone. If you want footage of who opened the cabinet, choose a camera model (300 Series only).
4. Will the person who opens it have a way to call for help?
At remote sites, places with poor mobile reception, or areas like pools and playgrounds where people often aren't carrying a phone, add the push-to-dial telephone so whoever opens the cabinet can call for help straight away.
If you need the cabinet within a few weeks, check the dispatch times above and avoid the configurations with a 90-day lead time.
| Your site | Suggested model |
|---|---|
| Indoors, staffed office or reception | CC-200 |
| Indoors, staffed, access needs to be controlled | CC-230 (telephone and keypad lock) |
| Indoors, unstaffed or after-hours site | CC-300 |
| Outdoor public-access wall | CC-300H |
| Outdoors, theft risk or poor mobile reception | CC-330H, or CC-330CH if you want a camera |
Why Sites Choose the Connect Range
- Remote monitoring (300 Series): you get notified when the door opens or the AED leaves the cabinet, and the system also monitors the conditions outside the cabinet. Handy for unstaffed and public-access locations.
- Alarm and light: sounds and lights up when the cabinet is opened, so people nearby know something is happening.
- Rust-free polycarbonate housing: the IP-rated shell won't corrode, and the clear front keeps the AED in sight.
- Suits all AED types: the manufacturer designed it to hold any brand of AED, so you can keep using your current one or switch brands later.
How It Differs From a Standard Alarmed AED Cabinet
CardiAct's entry-level CC-30, CC-60 and CC-90 cabinets are simple alarmed boxes. A siren goes off when the door opens, and that's it. The Connect range is a different product line, aimed at sites that need more: 4G monitoring with remote alerts, an optional camera, a phone for calling help, keypad access control and climate control. If you only need an alarmed cabinet indoors, a standard model will do. If you need to know what's happening at a cabinet you can't see, pick a 300 Series model.
