Tired of letting inaccessible kerbs, steps, and vehicles limit your independence? It is frustrating when your mobility scooter or wheelchair cannot take you everywhere you want to go, forcing you to change plans or rely on others. This Centre-Fold Wheelchair Ramp is the ultimate solution, providing a quick, safe, and convenient bridge to newfound freedom and reliability.

Lightweight Disabled Access Ramps Built for Durability

Manufactured from high-strength, lightweight aluminium, this ramp is engineered for both exceptional durability and ease of use. It is a lightweight wheelchair ramp that does not compromise on strength, making it the perfect tool for daily obstacles.

High-Capacity Folding Mobility Scooter Ramp

Do not let weight be a concern. This robust folding mobility scooter ramp supports a 400kg safe working load, making it ideal for a wide range of wheelchairs, powerchairs, and heavy-duty scooters. It is an access ramp designed for peace of mind.

Your Ideal Portable Wheelchair Ramp for Vans and Travel

The clever centre-fold design allows for compact storage and effortless transport, making this one of the best portable wheelchair ramps for vans and cars. Featuring built-in carry handles, this folding ramp is easy to carry, set up, and store away, enhancing your mobility on the go.

A Secure and Slip-Resistant Scooter Ramp

Safety is paramount. The entire surface is slip-resistant, ensuring secure traction in all weather conditions. This scooter ramp also includes raised safety edges to help prevent accidental roll-offs, providing a secure path every time. Its weather-resistant construction ensures low maintenance and long-term use both indoors and outdoors.

What Height Step or Vehicle Will This Ramp Suit?

The right length depends on two things: the height you need to climb, and who is doing the climbing. A longer ramp spreads the same rise over a longer run, giving a gentler and safer slope.

The gradient matters more than the fit. A ramp long enough to physically reach a step can still be far too steep to use safely. As a general rule, a person self-propelling a manual wheelchair needs a much gentler slope than a powerchair or an assisted transfer. Use the table below to match your rise to the right length, and if you are between sizes, always choose the longer ramp.

  • Single step or kerb (10cm to 20cm): The 91cm model suits most assisted or powered use at this height.
  • Two steps or a low vehicle sill (20cm to 30cm): Choose the 122cm model.
  • Van or SUV loading (30cm to 38cm): Choose the 152cm model.
  • Self-propelling a manual wheelchair: Drop one size down in rise for every length, as shown in the self-propelled column below.

How to Measure Before You Buy

  1. Measure the rise. For steps, measure from the ground to the top surface. For a vehicle, measure from level ground to the loading lip of the boot, van floor, or door sill, with the vehicle parked as it normally would be.
  2. Measure your wheelbase. Measure the outside width across your wheels or scooter tyres. This ramp has a usable width of 74cm, so your equipment must sit comfortably inside that.
  3. Check the approach space. You need the full length of the ramp on level ground, plus room to line up straight on. Kerbside loading in a tight parking bay is the most common place this catches people out.
  4. Check the ground at the base. The ramp needs a firm, level footing. Soft verge, loose gravel, or a sloping gutter will change the effective gradient and should be avoided.
  5. Consider who will carry it. These ramps weigh between 10.7kg and 16.1kg. If one person will be lifting it in and out of a vehicle daily, factor that in alongside the length.

Centre-Fold Wheelchair Ramp Specifications

All three sizes share a usable width of 74cm and a 5cm profile, with a safe working load of 400kg and a 1-year warranty.

SKU Length Max Rise (assisted or powered) Max Rise (self-propelled) Weight
RIST1993 91cm 15cm 11cm 10.7kg
RIST1994 122cm 20cm 15cm 13.5kg
RIST1995 152cm 25cm 19cm 16.1kg

Recommended maximums are based on safe gradient guidance. Assisted or powered figures assume a carer is present or the chair is powered. Self-propelled figures apply to a person pushing their own manual wheelchair unaided.
