Extra help getting up out of a chair
The Folding Step Up Walking Frame with Reciprocating Action 100kg has two tiers of handgrips. You push up on the lower grips to rise from a seat, then move your hands to the upper grips once you're standing. It gives you more stability at the moment many people feel least steady.
Fixed or reciprocating, you choose
Use it as a standard fixed walking frame, or switch it to reciprocating. In reciprocating mode each side pivots on its own, so you can lift and move one side of the frame at a time instead of the whole frame.
Light and easy to fold
The aluminium frame weighs just 2.5kg. One button folds it down to 10cm wide, so it fits in the car boot or tucks beside a chair. The height adjusts to suit you, and the soft thermal plastic grips are comfortable to hold.
Features
- Two tier step up frame: more stability when standing up from sitting.
- Fixed or reciprocating: switch between the two modes.
- One button folding: folds to 10cm wide for transport and storage.
- Height adjustable: handle height from 71.5 to 89cm.
- Comfortable grips: thermal plastic (TPR) handgrips.
- Lightweight aluminium: 2.5kg, rated to 100kg.
Is this walking frame right for you?
- Usually suits: people who need a frame for walking support and find it hard to push up from a chair, bed or toilet.
- Check first: the user's weight must be under 100kg, and they need to be able to lift the frame (or one side of it in reciprocating mode) with each step.
- Good to know: this frame has rubber tips, not wheels. If lifting a frame is hard, email us and we'll suggest a wheeled walker.
We recommend speaking with your healthcare provider or physiotherapist about which walking aid and mode suit you best.
Choosing the right height
- Stand up straight in your usual shoes with your arms relaxed by your sides.
- Measure from the floor to the crease of your wrist. That's roughly the upper handle height to set.
- Check it fits. The handles adjust from 71.5 to 89cm. When you hold the grips, your elbows should bend slightly.
- Check your doorways. The frame is 56cm wide at the base, so make sure it passes through the doorways you use.
