A Low-Profile Gel Seat Cushion for Long Days Sitting

The Cobalt GelComfort Cushion is a thin, dual layer gel seat cushion for wheelchairs, armchairs and day chairs. It measures 46 x 42 x 5cm and pairs two layers of 3D honeycomb gel with Cobalt's Air-Cell Beta Gel, inside a breathable, removable cover in green, orange or grey.

What Makes It Different

Thick foam cushions can raise you so high that your feet leave the footplates or the floor, and they tend to trap heat on long sits. The GelComfort is only 5cm thick, so your seat height barely changes. The open honeycomb gel flexes under you and spreads your weight across the seat, and both the cushion and its cover let air move through.

Is the GelComfort Cushion Right for You?

It usually suits you if you:

• sit for long stretches in a wheelchair, armchair or day chair
• want a thin cushion that won't raise your seat height much
• have a seat around 46cm wide and 42cm deep
• weigh 120kg or less

Good to know before you order:

• Measure your chair seat first. A cushion that hangs over the edge or leaves big gaps won't sit well.
• The cover supplied is the breathable fabric cover. It is not waterproof. The blue waterproof cover shown in one photo is a separate Cobalt accessory and is not included.
• If you have skin concerns or need a cushion for a specific seating need, we recommend speaking with your healthcare provider before you buy.

Choosing the Right Size

1. Measure the width of your chair seat from side to side, inside the armrests or wheelchair side guards.
2. Measure the depth from the back of the seat (where the backrest meets it) to the front edge.
3. Compare both with the cushion size of 46 x 42cm. The closer the match, the better the cushion stays in place.
4. Check the seat height with the cushion added. At 5cm thick, it adds about 5cm to your sitting height.
