A supportive high back chair for long days of sitting

The Heavy Duty High Back Day Chair 60cm Seat 250kg is an orthopaedic chair with a wide 60cm seat, a curved padded backrest and weight bearing armrests. The seat height and depth both adjust, so you can set it up for good hip support, and it holds up to 250kg on a powder coated steel frame.

Sit well, and get up more easily

A soft lounge that's too low or too deep can make sitting uncomfortable and standing up hard work. This day chair is made for post surgery and therapy recovery, and for anyone who spends long stretches seated. Set the seat height so your hips sit well, then push up on the firm, padded armrests when it's time to stand.

Postural support where you need it

The curved, padded high back supports your posture and comfort when sitting for extended periods. The seat depth adjusts from 51 to 56cm, so you can sit right back in the chair.

Easy to live with

It suits almost any room of the house. The vinyl padding wipes clean, the steel frame needs little maintenance, and rubber stoppers on the legs protect your floors. Minor assembly is required.

Is this high back day chair right for you?

  • Usually suits: people recovering from surgery or therapy, larger users up to 250kg, and anyone who wants a firm, supportive chair they can set to the right height.
  • Check first: the seat is 60cm wide, and it's a fixed upright chair, not a recliner or lift chair.
  • Assembly: minor assembly is required on arrival.

We recommend speaking with your healthcare provider or therapist about the right seat height after surgery.

Choosing the right seat height and depth

  1. Measure your lower leg. Sit on a firm chair with your feet flat and your knees at a right angle. Measure from the floor to the back of the knee.
  2. Compare with the range. The seat height sets from 47 to 62cm in 2.5cm steps. If your healthcare provider has given you a seat height after surgery, check it falls in this range.
  3. Check the depth. The seat depth sets from 51 to 56cm. Measure from the back of your bottom to the back of the knee while seated.
  4. Check the width. The seat is 60cm wide.
