A Supportive Shell Chair That Moves Around the Home With You
The Drive Integra Shell Chair is a mobile seating and transfer chair for people who need support to sit for longer periods, and for the carers who help them. A carer can tilt it back, raise the leg rest, tilt it forward to make standing easier, and wheel it from room to room on 12.5cm castors. Choose a 45cm or 51cm seat width.
Dispatched from our Australian supplier's NSW warehouse, usually within 2-7 business days.
Why a Shell Chair Makes Sense
When sitting up in an ordinary chair gets hard, it's easy to end up spending most of the day in bed. The Integra gives a supported, comfortable seat that can come to the dinner table, the lounge room or the back door, and its compact, height-adjustable frame fits under most tables. The main adjustments sit on one trigger on the rear carer push bar: tilt the seat back up to 27°, or tilt it forward 3° so the leg rest tucks under the seat and getting up is easier.
Features
- Gas-assisted tilt in space. Tilts the whole seat back up to 27° from a trigger on the push bar.
- Tilts forward for standing. The leg rest moves under the seat as the chair tilts forward.
- Two seat widths. 45cm or 51cm, both 44cm deep.
- Height adjustable. Three seat heights: 45cm, 49cm and 53cm.
- Angle-adjustable, removable leg rest. Raise it, or take it off for transfers.
- Ergonomic wing headrest. Attached with Velcro, so it's easy to reposition.
- Lap belt fitted as standard.
- Removable seat cushion. A 2-way stretch, fluid resistant, vapour permeable grey cover on the seat, backrest and leg section, with blue leather-look upholstery outside.
- 12.5cm castors, 2 rear brakes. A directional castor helps the chair roll in a straight line.
- Good hoist access. Makes moving and handling with a hoist easier.
- Rear storage pocket. Handy for a blanket or personal things.
- 120kg safe working load and 2-year warranty.
Is the Integra Shell Chair Right for You?
It usually suits you if:
- you need support to stay comfortably seated for long periods
- a carer will push the chair and adjust the tilt
- you'd like to join family at the table or move between rooms instead of staying in bed
- the person using it weighs 120kg or less
Good to know before you order:
- The Integra is pushed by a carer. It has no large wheels for self-propelling.
- The footplate is an optional extra (part no. XDM-M20823500), sold separately.
- Overall width is 69cm with the 45cm seat and 72cm with the 51cm seat, so check your doorways.
- A shell chair is best chosen and set up with an occupational therapist. We recommend speaking with your healthcare provider.
