Clear, Easy Joint Measurements with the Jamar EZ Read Goniometer
The Jamar EZ Read Goniometer measures joint range of motion with large, easy-to-read markings, so you get clear readings during assessments. It suits the finger, wrist, shoulder, elbow, hip, knee and ankle, and comes in four lengths from 15cm to 32cm. The transparent plastic has an opaque background behind the degree markings, plus inch and centimetre linear scales.
Why Therapists Like the Jamar EZ Read
- Easy to read. Large markings on an opaque background make angles quick to read.
- Built for daily clinic use. Durable plastic and metal components keep it accurate through repeated use.
- Comfortable to handle. Comfortable grip arms and a smooth rotation make positioning simple.
- Latex free. Suitable for patients who need to avoid latex.
A session, with the Jamar EZ Read
You line the arms up along the limb, centre the dial on the joint and read the angle straight off the large markings. At each review you measure the same way again and track how far the joint is moving.
The Jamar EZ Read Goniometer in a nutshell
- Intended use: measuring joint range of motion.
- Sizes: 15cm, 17cm, 20cm and 32cm.
- Scales: degree markings plus inch and centimetre linear measurements.
- Material: transparent plastic with metal components, latex free.
Choosing the right size
All four sizes have large, easy-to-read markings plus inch and centimetre scales. They differ in arm length and degree scale.
| Size | Degree scale |
| 15cm | 0° to 180° both ways, 1° steps |
| 17cm | 0° to 180°, 5° steps, small joints |
| 20cm | 0° to 180° both ways, 1° steps |
| 32cm | 0° to 180° and 360°, 1° steps |
The 17cm is the one for small joints such as fingers. The 32cm has the 360° scale. Many clinics keep a small and a large size on hand.
Is it the right goniometer for you?
