An Electric Care Bed Made to Get Into Your Home

The K-Dee Classic King Single Electric Hospital Bed gives you the adjustments of a care bed in a frame that looks at home in a bedroom. Beech wood grain ends enclose the head and foot. The electric controls raise and lower the bed, lift the backrest and calves, and tilt the whole platform. It's the second generation of the popular K-Dee II community bed range.

Built for Narrow Hallways and Small Rooms

Getting a care bed into a house is often harder than using one. Narrow hallways, tight doorways, stairs and lifts all get in the way. The K-Dee Classic comes in four sections on a transport bracket, so it can be wheeled in a piece at a time. You'll need a 5mm Allen key. The electrics stay inside each section and join with colour-coded plugs, so nothing has to be pulled apart. One or two people can usually set it up in 10-15 minutes.

• Electric height adjustment. The platform moves between 30.5cm and 70.5cm: lower for getting in and out, higher when a carer is helping.
• Electric backrest, 0-70°. Sit up to read, eat or watch TV.
• Electric calf lift. Raise the leg section when you want it. The knee bend is set by hand.
• Trendelenburg and reverse Trendelenburg, 0-11°. Tilts the whole platform head-down or feet-down.
• Four locking castors. Each castor locks on its own, so the bed stays put once it's in place.
• 213kg safe working load. Rated for a maximum user weight of 178kg.
• Beech wood grain bed ends. Fully enclosed head and foot ends that look more like bedroom furniture than hospital equipment.
• Transport brackets included. The bed arrives pre-assembled on its transport brackets, which also help if you move house later.
• Long warranty. 5 years on the frame, 3 years on the electronics and 1 year on the handset.

Choosing Your Options

Backup battery: choose "Yes" to add Cobalt's battery backup for the bed's electrics, or "No" for the bed on its own.

Size: this is the king single, with a 105 x 202cm platform. The K-Dee Classic also comes as a single (88 x 202cm platform).

Accessories: side rails (full length wooden or steel, half or three-quarter length steel, all sold in pairs), padded side rail covers, a 20cm bed extension (needs a mattress bolster), a self help pole, an IV pole and a grab rail are available separately.
