A Home Care Bed That Gets Through the Front Door

The K-Dee II Single Electric Bed is an adjustable care bed made for ordinary homes. From one handset you can change the height, raise the backrest, bend the knees and tilt the whole bed head-down or foot-down. It also comes apart into four sections, so tight hallways, stairs and lifts don't stop it getting to the bedroom.

Dispatched from our Australian supplier's NSW warehouse, usually within 2-7 business days.

Why Families Pick the K-Dee II

Getting a full-size care bed into a house is often harder than choosing one. The K-Dee II splits into four sections, and one or two people can put it together in about 10-15 minutes with a 5mm Allen key. The motors stay attached to the frame and the leads use colour-coded plugs, so there's no rewiring. Once it's set up, the bed drops to 33.5cm for getting in and out, then rises to 72.5cm so whoever is helping doesn't have to bend over the bed all day.

The beech wood grain head and foot panels help too. It looks more like bedroom furniture than a ward bed.

Features

  • Five powered adjustments. Height, backrest, knee break, head-down tilt and foot-down tilt, all from the handset.
  • Height from 33.5cm to 72.5cm. Low for getting in and out, high for making the bed or helping someone sit up.
  • Handset with function lockout. Buttons can be locked so settings aren't changed by accident.
  • Four-section pull-apart frame. Goes together with a 5mm Allen key and colour-coded plug-in leads.
  • Four individually locking castors. Roll the bed out to clean, then lock it in place.
  • Supports at the head end for an optional self-help pole or IV pole.
  • 213kg safe working load. Maximum user weight is 178kg.
  • Optional battery backup. Choose it when you order (see below).

Battery Backup: Yes or No?

As standard, the K-Dee II runs on mains power only. If the power goes out, the bed stops where it is, and a raised backrest or knee section has to be lowered by hand, which takes two people. Choose Backup Battery Required: Yes if you want the bed to keep working through a blackout. The battery has to be ordered with the bed, so it's worth deciding now.

Is the K-Dee II Single Bed Right for You?

It usually suits you if you:

  • want an adjustable care bed at home that looks like furniture
  • need the bed to fit through narrow hallways, stairs or a lift
  • have someone helping you who needs the bed at a comfortable working height
  • weigh 178kg or less

Good to know before you order:

  • The mattress, side rails, self-help pole and bed extension in some photos are optional extras and aren't included.
  • It takes a single mattress of about 88 x 198cm. With the full-length side rails fitted, the mattress can be no thicker than 27cm.
  • It plugs into a standard Australian power point.
  • For advice on positioning, pressure care or which bed suits your needs, we recommend speaking with your healthcare provider.
