Knead, press and shape: Rolyan 50/50 Mix Elastomer Putty
Rolyan 50/50 Mix Elastomer Putty is a two-part elastomer you knead together by hand into a firm piece of putty. Therapists use it to build up the inside of gloves, braces or splints so they put pressure on scar tissue, and to make custom grips for cutlery, pens and keys. Each kit has blue base, white catalyst and two measuring scoops, in 240g or 847g.
Make everyday things easier to hold
The same kit turns a thin handle into a chunky, custom-shaped grip. Wrap a kneaded batch around a spoon, toothbrush, pen, pencil or key, shape it to the hand and let it firm up. Rolyan formulated the putty to leave no oily residue on your hands.
Sets in about four minutes
Pressed over a scar, the putty firms up in about four minutes. Then it can go inside a glove or splint as a custom-shaped pressure insert.
What's in the Rolyan 50/50 Mix Elastomer Putty
- Base. The blue elastomer.
- Catalyst. The white elastomer.
- Scoops. A blue and a white measuring scoop, so you can measure equal parts of each.
Features
- Equal-parts mix: one scoop of blue to one of white, kneaded by hand.
- Firm when set, so it holds its shape inside a glove, brace or splint.
- Sets in about four minutes over the skin.
- Shapes by hand, with no tools needed.
- No oily residue on your hands.
- Two jobs, one kit: scar pressure inserts and custom grips.
Is the Rolyan 50/50 Mix Elastomer Putty right for you?
- Usually suits: therapists building pressure inserts for gloves, braces or splints over scar tissue, and anyone making a custom grip for utensils, pens, toothbrushes or keys.
- Not suitable: don't apply it on an open wound.
- Not included: the glove, brace, splint or utensil it's moulded into.
For scar management, talk to your therapist about whether a pressure insert suits the scar and how long to wear it.
Choosing the right kit size
Both kits have the same blue base, white catalyst and measuring scoops. The only difference is how much putty you get.
- Work out the job: a few inserts or grips, or regular use in a clinic.
- Pick the kit: 240g for occasional use, 847g if you'll make them often.
- Store it cool: keep it at or below 22°C (72°F).
