Uncoated splinting sheet with 100% memory
Rolyan Aquaplast Original is an uncoated thermoplastic splinting sheet with full memory, so you can reheat and reshape it again and again. It turns translucent when soft, which helps you see landmarks and pressure points while you position it.
Why You'll Love The Rolyan Aquaplast Original
- 100% memory. Reheat it and the sheet returns to its original shape, which suits serial static and static progressive splints.
- Bonds instantly. The uncoated surface bonds to itself without any surface preparation.
- Translucent when soft. You can see the skin underneath and check positioning before it sets.
- Controlled stretch. Moderate resistance to stretch, so it won't sag when lifted out of the splint bath.
Your day, with the Rolyan Aquaplast Original
Aquaplast Original suits medium to large splints and detailed work too. When a splint needs changing as things progress, warm it again and remould it instead of starting from a fresh sheet.
The Rolyan Aquaplast Original in a nutshell
- Thickness: 1.6mm, 2.4mm or 3.2mm.
- Perforation: 13% UltraPerf, 19% OptiPerf or solid.
- Sheet size: 45.5 x 60.5cm, beige.
Choosing the right thickness and perforation
Every option is a beige 45.5 x 60.5cm sheet. Not every thickness comes in every perforation, so these are the combinations you can order.
| Thickness | Perforation |
| 1.6mm | 13% UltraPerf or 19% OptiPerf |
| 2.4mm | 19% OptiPerf |
| 3.2mm | 19% OptiPerf or solid |
Rolyan doesn't publish a thickness-by-splint guide for this sheet. Go with what you normally use for the splint, or email us and we'll help you check.
Is it the right splinting material for you?
- A good fit: serial static and static progressive splints that you'll reheat and reshape as things change, from detailed work to medium and large splints.
- Good to know: it's uncoated, so heated surfaces bond to themselves straight away.
- Also consider: Aquaplast-T, the same material with a non-stick coating, if you don't want accidental bonding.
Thermoplastic sheets are made for therapists and clinicians who shape custom splints. For advice on which material suits a particular splint, we recommend speaking with your healthcare provider or hand therapist.
