Easy drape and strength that resists cracking
Rolyan Polyflex II is a polycaprolactone splinting sheet with high conformability and low resistance to stretch. It drapes naturally and moulds easily for a precise fit, yet it is still strong, rigid and flexible once cool.
Why You'll Love The Rolyan Polyflex II
- Resists stress fatigue. Flexible enough when cool to resist the start and spread of cracks, a good fit for splints used in heavy work.
- Natural drape. Shapes to contours with soft, gentle pressure, cutting down fabrication time.
- Non-stick coating. Water-based coating prevents accidental bonding.
- Reheat and reshape. It can be reworked repeatedly, though it won't return to its original shape once stretched.
Your day, with the Rolyan Polyflex II
Polyflex II is recommended for finger and hand splints, dynamic splints, neck collars and more. The thicker sheets suit larger fracture braces, and the material also suits intricate paediatric splints.
The Rolyan Polyflex II in a nutshell
- Thickness: 2.4mm or 3.2mm.
- Colours: white, blue or beige.
- Options: solid or 1% perforated, in 45.7 x 61cm or 61 x 91.4cm sheets.
Choosing the right colour, thickness and size
Not every colour comes in every thickness and sheet size, so these are the combinations you can order. Rolyan says the thicker sheets suit larger fracture braces.
| Colour | Thickness and perforation | Sheet size |
| White | 2.4mm solid or 1% | 45.7 x 61cm |
| White | 3.2mm solid or 1% | 45.7 x 61cm or 61 x 91.4cm |
| Blue | 3.2mm solid or 1% | 45.7 x 61cm |
| Beige | 3.2mm 1% | 61 x 91.4cm |
Is it the right splinting material for you?
- A good fit: finger and hand splints, dynamic splints and neck collars, and splints used in heavy work where cracking is a worry.
- Good to know: it drapes easily, so heat it in a splint bath and let it cool slightly before handling. It won't return to its original shape once stretched.
- Also consider: Polyform if you need the most rigid Rolyan sheet.
Thermoplastic sheets are made for therapists and clinicians who shape custom splints. For advice on which material suits a particular splint, we recommend speaking with your healthcare provider or hand therapist.
Polyflex II is intended for making custom moulded rigid splints, orthoses and adaptive equipment. Heat it in a splint bath; use a heat gun only for spot heating and adjustments. Overheating increases drape and stretch, so let the sheet cool slightly before handling.
