Grasp, then let go: the SaeboGlove for a weak hand
The SaeboGlove is a lightweight, low-profile glove that helps the fingers and thumb open again after you grip. Saebo made it for people with hand weakness after a neurological or orthopaedic injury, such as a stroke, brain injury or radial nerve palsy. It lets the hand take part in real tasks during therapy and at home. This complete kit comes in three shell sizes, five liner sizes, and left or right hand.
Use your hand in everyday tasks
Close your hand around a glass, lift it, then let it go without someone opening your fingers for you. Tensioners on the back of the glove do the opening. That means you can practise grasp and release at the kitchen bench or the table, as well as in the therapy room.
Light, low profile and comfortable
The tension system sits along the back of the fingers and thumb, and the palm stays open. The spiral forearm piece holds the wrist in a functional position. It's light enough to wear through a practice session and slim enough to grip everyday objects.
What's in the SaeboGlove
Expandable. Lycra finger panels stretch for a close, breathable fit.
Open. Tensioners help straighten the finger and thumb joints after you grip. Five sizes come in the kit, set by finger length and how much help the hand needs.
Non-slip. The silicone liner stops the glove sliding out of place, and the anti-slip fingertips add grip while you hold things.
Secure. The spiral forearm design supports the wrist in a functional position.

Is the SaeboGlove right for you?
A therapist should check the person before they start. Here's the general guide from Saebo.
- Usually suits: a weak hand or wrist (wrist drop, or the hand won't open) after a stroke, brain injury, nerve injury or orthopaedic injury, where the person can still close or squeeze the hand a little and has some arm or shoulder movement. The injury can be recent or years old.
- Usually not suitable with: severe joint deformities in the hand or elbow, significant arthritis, mild to moderate tightness (spasticity) or more in the hand or elbow, moderate or severe swelling, open wounds, or difficulty following basic instructions.
- Latex: it contains natural rubber latex, which may cause an allergic reaction. Avoid it with a latex allergy.
Choosing the right size and hand
You choose two sizes: the shell (the wrist splint), set by wrist circumference, and the glove liner, set by hand circumference and third finger length. Saebo's chart below shows where to measure and which liner matches. Watch the short video first.
- Shell: wrap a soft tape around the wrist and pick Small, Medium or Large from the wrist row.
- Liner: measure around the hand at the knuckles, then the length of the third (middle) finger as shown in the chart. Find where the two meet in the liner grid.
- Check the pair: shells and liners come in the set pairs below. If your pair isn't listed, email us your three measurements and we'll match the closest fit.
- Choose the hand: order Left for the left hand and Right for the right hand.
| Shell | Liner | Hand |
| Small | XS or S | Left or Right |
| Medium | XS | Left |
| Medium | S, M or L | Left or Right |
| Large | L or XL | Left or Right |
