cobalt-mattress-underlay
Cobalt Mattress Underlay, 5cm Foam Base for Air Mattresses

A Thin Foam Base for Your Alternating Air Mattress

The Cobalt Mattress Underlay is a 5cm medium-density foam base that goes under an alternating air overlay or air mattress. It gives the air system something firm to sit on, and because it's much thinner than a standard mattress, it keeps the bed surface low.

Dispatched from our Australian supplier's NSW warehouse, usually within 2-7 business days.

Why Use an Underlay Instead of a Mattress

Air overlays are often laid on top of an ordinary foam mattress. That stacks two layers together and can leave the sleeping surface much higher than the bed was designed for, which makes getting in and out harder and puts the top of the bed rails closer to the mattress. Swapping the full mattress for this 5cm underlay brings the height back down.

It also adds support under the air cells. If the power goes out, the system develops a fault, or the backrest is raised for a long time, the foam stops the air mattress from "bottoming out" onto the bed base.

Features

5cm medium-density foam. Durable support under an alternating air overlay or air mattress.

Keeps the bed low. Much thinner than a standard mattress, which helps where there's a risk of falls.

Support if the air system loses pressure. Helps stop the air mattress bottoming out during a power cut or fault.

Fits standard sizes. Made in single and king single to suit standard air mattresses and beds.

Water resistant, vapour permeable cover. Protects the foam and lets moisture vapour escape.

12-month warranty. Covered for a year from purchase.

Is the Cobalt Mattress Underlay Right for You?

It usually suits you if you:

use an alternating air overlay, like the 5" Single Alternating Overlay Air Mattress we stock, and want to keep the bed height down

want a backup layer of foam under an air system

are replacing a full foam mattress under an air overlay

Good to know before you order:

It's not a mattress.
