A Sturdy Steel Wheelchair You Can Push Yourself

The Drive Budget Steel Self Propelled Wheelchair is an entry-level folding wheelchair with a strong steel frame, large 61cm (24") mag rear wheels with hand rims, and solid tyres that never go flat. It has a 45cm wide seat, takes users up to 115kg, and comes with padded armrests and swing away footrests.

Dispatched from our Australian supplier's NSW warehouse, usually within 2-7 business days.

Push Yourself, With Help Close By

The plastic hand rims on the big rear wheels let you move yourself forwards and backwards, at home and out on footpaths. The parking brakes on the rear wheels can be reached by you or by whoever is pushing, and rear stepper tubes give a carer a safe way to tip the chair up a kerb.

Very Little Upkeep

Every wheel has a solid polyurethane tyre, so there's nothing to pump up and no punctures to fix. The double embossed vinyl seat and backrest give good support and are easy to wipe clean.

Folds for the Car

A simple folding mechanism brings the chair down to 26cm wide for the boot or a cupboard. The footrests adjust for height, swing away and flip up, and lift off when you're packing it away. A heel strap comes standard.

Is This Steel Wheelchair Right for You?

  • Usually suits: users up to 115kg who want a dependable, low-maintenance wheelchair to push themselves around the home and on footpaths, with a carer able to help when needed.
  • Not designed for: rough or uneven ground. It's made for indoor use and smooth outdoor surfaces.
  • Weight to lift: the chair weighs 18kg, so think about who will lift it into the car. A lighter aluminium chair may suit better if that's a worry.
  • Not for use in a moving vehicle: this wheelchair is not intended for use as a seat in a motor vehicle. Transfer to a vehicle seat for travel.

We recommend speaking with your healthcare provider, therapist or carer before choosing a wheelchair.

Choosing the Right Fit

  1. Check the weight capacity. The user's weight must be 115kg or less.
  2. Check the seat width. The seat is 45cm wide. Sit on a firm chair and measure across the widest part of the hips. If you're unsure whether 45cm will fit, email us the measurement and we'll help.
  3. Check the seat height and depth. The seat sits 50cm off the floor with a 40cm seat depth.
  4. Check your doorways and car. It's 61cm wide when open, 26cm wide folded and 106cm long.
