A4: Yes, On the self propel model, the rear wheels can be removed. To remove the rear wheel, push the button in the centre of the wheel hub and slide the wheel fromits axle. And It has SOLID Tyres all around.
Can the DRIVE Lightweight XS2 Self Propelled Wheelchair be used in a Motor Vehicle such as Taxi?
Yes, the Drive XS2 Wheelchair has been tested to Wheelchair Crash Test Standard ISO 7176/19 using restraints from Q-Straint. Whenever possible the wheelchair user should use the vehicle's fitted seats and the wheelchair should be folded away and placed safely in the luggage compartment of the vehicle or restrained.
If it is not feasible to transfer to the vehicle's seat then this wheelchair may be used as a chair whilst the vehicle is moving with the necessary restraints, ad with the wheelchair facing the front of the vehicle. Drive Medical recommends the following types of restraints be used:
- Buckle and tongue or standard hook restraints for the front of the wheelchair.
- 'J' restraints for the rear of the wheelchair.
- 3-point harness for the user restraint. The lap belt should be worn across the front of the pelvis, with the webbing fed between the back posts and armrests.
The upper torso belt should be worn over the shoulder. The belt should be worn as firm as possible without being uncomfortable. Below is a diagram illustrating the recommended positions of restraints. The securement points for the restraints are marked on the wheelchair using the symbol (below right).

Free Shipping Policy
If you live in a Metro or Inner Regional suburb in NSW, VIC, ACT, SA, or QLD, shipping will be FREE. However, if you live outside these areas, shipping costs will be calculated at checkout.
Surcharge for Rural and Remote Locations
For customers living in rural or remote areas, we offer a discounted shipping rate. For example, if a wheelchair typically costs $80 to ship to Sydney but $120 to ship to Perth, shipping to Sydney would be free, while the customer in Perth would pay a discounted rate of $40. Please note that this extra charge is non-refundable, even if the customer decides to return the product.
Order Confirmation
After placing your order, you will receive an order confirmation. This means that we have authorized your credit card or PayPal for the purchase and are preparing your order for shipment.
- We will contact our warehouse to confirm that the item is in stock and available for immediate shipment.
- If your item(s) are available for immediate shipment and pass our fraud checks, we will process the charges and submit the order for shipment.

Shipping times vary depending on the location your product is shipped from and the delivery address. Most of our warehouses are based in NSW. Estimated delivery times are:

- Rural NSW, VIC, QLD, and SA: 5-8 Business Days

We cannot guarantee a delivery date but can provide an estimated timeframe based on your location. If you need something urgently, we recommend shopping at a local mobility aids retailer, even if they are more expensive.
Delivery Responsibilities
If couriers are unable to successfully deliver your order due to the inability to leave it in a safe place or requiring a signature, it is the customer’s responsibility to pick up the package at the courier's depot or post office. If the item is returned to us and needs to be reshipped, the customer will be required to pay additional shipping fees for the reshipment.
Christmas Holiday Period
Please note that our warehouses are typically closed during the last week of December and the first week of January each year. Orders placed during this period may not be shipped until our warehouses reopen in early January.

Please inspect your product(s) as soon as possible upon delivery and notify us of any issues, as there may be a limited window to resolve them with suppliers and shipping companies.

Australian owned and operated by David Thiu, Mobility Shop Direct was founded in 2019 to help all Australians find the right Mobility Aids to maintain their Mobility and Independence.
Whilst working as a Locum Pharmacist throughout Australia, David noticed that many of his patients were frustrated by how hard it was to find mobility aids and by the lack of information available. Most Pharmacies either did not stock any Mobility Aids, or those that did only had a limited range available, with many staff members insufficiently trained. Even when shopping online, most of the sites that did sell mobility aids were difficult to navigate, did not provide enough educational material to assist with the buying process, and did not have a wide enough selection.
To fill this gap in the market, David spent hundreds of hours researching, writing buying guides, and building this brand new site that you're on now. Do you deliver to PO Box Addresses? Answer: No sorry, in most instances the Post Office will not accept the package and redirect back to sender. There is one way around this however, which is for you to setup a FREE Parcel Collect Address.
Do you have a showroom or shop? Answer: At this stage we do not have a showroom or shop, and our entire catalogue is online and we strive to provide you with the best prices, service and shopping experience. If you would like to see the product in person you can try Googling the [Product Name] + [Your Suburb] to find your nearest retailer.
Are NDIS Registered? Answer: No, we are not registered with the NDIS, but can provide you with invoices to claim if you are on a Self Managed Plan via our NDIS Order Form.

How to Determine Which Size DRIVE Lightweight XS2 Self Propelled Wheelchair to Get?
- Sit on your dining chair
- Using a measuring tape, find out the widest width between your legs/buttocks
- Add 4-6cm to the above measurement, to get recommended seat width
Alternatively, you do this in reverse:
- Sit on your dining chair.
- Measure out wheelchair seat width over your lap e.g. 40cm, 45cm, 50cm
- Ask yourself, would I sit comfortably in a seat that width?

A1: Yes, all you will need to do is unfold it and attach the footrests onto the wheelchair.
Q2: How much does delivery cost?
A2: Delivery is FREE to Metro and Inner Regional Suburbs, and is automatically calculated at checkout if you live in other locations.
Q3: Can this Wheelchair be Used Outdoors?
A3: Yes, it features large 8" Solid Tires Front Wheels, and 24" Solid Tires Rear Wheels, that don't require any maintenance and can be used both Indoors and Outdoors.
Q4: Does this wheelchair has Quick Release Wheels and Solid Tires?
A4: Yes, On the self propel model, the rear wheels can be removed. To remove the rear wheel, push the button in the centre of the wheel hub and slide the wheel fromits axle. And It has SOLID Tyres all around.
Can the DRIVE Lightweight XS2 Self Propelled Wheelchair be used in a Motor Vehicle such as Taxi?
Yes, the Drive XS2 Wheelchair has been tested to Wheelchair Crash Test Standard ISO 7176/19 using restraints from Q-Straint. Whenever possible the wheelchair user should use the vehicle's fitted seats and the wheelchair should be folded away and placed safely in the luggage compartment of the vehicle or restrained.
If it is not feasible to transfer to the vehicle's seat then this wheelchair may be used as a chair whilst the vehicle is moving with the necessary restraints, ad with the wheelchair facing the front of the vehicle. Drive Medical recommends the following types of restraints be used:
- Buckle and tongue or standard hook restraints for the front of the wheelchair.
- 'J' restraints for the rear of the wheelchair.
- 3-point harness for the user restraint. The lap belt should be worn across the front of the pelvis, with the webbing fed between the back posts and armrests.
The upper torso belt should be worn over the shoulder. The belt should be worn as firm as possible without being uncomfortable. Below is a diagram illustrating the recommended positions of restraints. The securement points for the restraints are marked on the wheelchair using the symbol (below right).

Free Shipping Policy
If you live in a Metro or Inner Regional suburb in NSW, VIC, ACT, SA, or QLD, shipping will be FREE. However, if you live outside these areas, shipping costs will be calculated at checkout.
Surcharge for Rural and Remote Locations
For customers living in rural or remote areas, we offer a discounted shipping rate. For example, if a wheelchair typically costs $80 to ship to Sydney but $120 to ship to Perth, shipping to Sydney would be free, while the customer in Perth would pay a discounted rate of $40. Please note that this extra charge is non-refundable, even if the customer decides to return the product.
Order Confirmation
After placing your order, you will receive an order confirmation. This means that we have authorized your credit card or PayPal for the purchase and are preparing your order for shipment.
- We will contact our warehouse to confirm that the item is in stock and available for immediate shipment.
- If your item(s) are available for immediate shipment and pass our fraud checks, we will process the charges and submit the order for shipment.
- If your item is unavailable or your order is flagged as fraudulent, we will attempt to contact you by phone or email. If we cannot reach you, the order may be canceled.

- Rural NSW, VIC, QLD, and SA: 5-8 Business Days
- NT and Rural WA: 7-12 Business Days

We cannot guarantee a delivery date but can provide an estimated timeframe based on your location. If you need something urgently, we recommend shopping at a local mobility aids retailer, even if they are more expensive.
Delivery Responsibilities
If couriers are unable to successfully deliver your order due to the inability to leave it in a safe place or requiring a signature, it is the customer’s responsibility to pick up the package at the courier's depot or post office. If the item is returned to us and needs to be reshipped, the customer will be required to pay additional shipping fees for the reshipment.
Christmas Holiday Period
Please note that our warehouses are typically closed during the last week of December and the first week of January each year. Orders placed during this period may not be shipped until our warehouses reopen in early January.

Please inspect your product(s) as soon as possible upon delivery and notify us of any issues, as there may be a limited window to resolve them with suppliers and shipping companies.

Australian owned and operated by David Thiu, Mobility Shop Direct was founded in 2019 to help all Australians find the right Mobility Aids to maintain their Mobility and Independence.
Whilst working as a Locum Pharmacist throughout Australia, David noticed that many of his patients were frustrated by how hard it was to find mobility aids and by the lack of information available. Most Pharmacies either did not stock any Mobility Aids, or those that did only had a limited range available, with many staff members insufficiently trained. Even when shopping online, most of the sites that did sell mobility aids were difficult to navigate, did not provide enough educational material to assist with the buying process, and did not have a wide enough selection.
To fill this gap in the market, David spent hundreds of hours researching, writing buying guides, and building this brand new site that you're on now. Do you deliver to PO Box Addresses? Answer: No sorry, in most instances the Post Office will not accept the package and redirect back to sender. There is one way around this however, which is for you to setup a FREE Parcel Collect Address.

Answer: At this stage we do not have a showroom or shop, and our entire catalogue is online and we strive to provide you with the best prices, service and shopping experience. Are NDIS Registered? Answer: No, we are not registered with the NDIS, but can provide you with invoices to claim if you are on a Self Managed Plan via our NDIS Order Form.
