Cobalt Chair Support Butterfly Cushion, Adjustable Lumbar Support
Back Support You Can Shape to Your Chair
The Cobalt Chair Support Butterfly Cushion is an adjustable lumbar support cushion for wheelchairs, office chairs and day chairs. Two contoured wings attach anywhere on the back panel with Velcro, so you can set the width and height to suit you, and two adjustable straps hold it on the chair. Choose a firm or soft back panel.
Dispatched from our Australian supplier's NSW warehouse, usually within 2-7 business days.
Why Adjustable Wings Matter
Most lumbar cushions are one fixed shape, so they often sit in the wrong spot for the person using them. With the Butterfly Cushion you move the two wings until they sit where you want support, anywhere from 28cm to 46cm apart. That makes it easier to get a comfortable fit in a chair you spend hours in each day, and to adjust it again if your needs or your chair change.
Features
- Width and height adjustable. The two contoured wings attach anywhere on the back panel with Velcro.
- 28cm to 46cm between the wings. Set them narrow or wide to suit your build.
- Firm or soft back panel. Choose to suit the type of chair it will be used on.
- Two adjustable straps. Hold the cushion in place on the chair back.
- Removable cover. Multi-direction stretch, wipe clean.
- Suits most wheelchairs, office chairs and day chairs.
- 135kg safe working load and a 12-month warranty.
Is the Butterfly Cushion Right for You?
It usually suits you if you:
- sit for long periods in a wheelchair, office chair or day chair
- want extra lumbar support you can position yourself
- find fixed-shape back cushions sit in the wrong place
Good to know before you order:
- Measure your chair back first. The back panel is 41 x 40cm, so the chair back needs room for it and for the straps to go around.
- Not sure whether the firm or soft back panel suits your chair? Email us a photo of the chair and we'll help you choose.
- For advice on posture or a specific back condition, we recommend speaking with your healthcare provider.
Choosing the Right Option
- Measure the width and height of your chair's backrest. The back panel is 41cm x 40cm.
- Check the straps can go around the backrest. They hold the cushion in place.
- Measure across your back where you want the support. The wings can sit anywhere from 28cm to 46cm apart (inside measurement).
- Choose a firm or soft back panel to suit your chair. If you're unsure, email us and we'll check it for you.

MEET THE FOUNDER
Australian owned and operated by David Thiu, Mobility Shop Direct was founded in 2019 to help all Australians find the right Mobility Aids to maintain their Mobility and Independence.
Whilst working as a Locum Pharmacist throughout Australia, David noticed that many of his patients were frustrated by how hard it was to find mobility aids and by the lack of information available. Most Pharmacies either did not stock any Mobility Aids, or those that did only had a limited range available, with many staff members insufficiently trained. Even when shopping online, most of the sites that did sell mobility aids were difficult to navigate, did not provide enough educational material to assist with the buying process, and did not have a wide enough selection.
To fill this gap in the market, David spent hundreds of hours researching, writing buying guides, and building this brand new site that you're on now. Thanks to David you can now shop, browse and learn about Mobility Aids all in one place in the comfort of your own home, and even have everything delivered to your doorsteps!
Today, we stay true to our roots and are online-only. We plan to stay that way in order to offer our customers the lowest possible factory-direct prices, fastest shipping times, and world-class customer service by phone, email, and live chat. Operating online-only means we can offer all this without sacrificing any of the things that made us excited to start this business in the first place like being able to travel and help people all over the world.
How We Give Back To The Community:
We love to give back to our community. Our love for Mobility Aids extends far beyond our local community. We've partnered with Variety to help Children live a better life with the help of Mobility Aids. It's amazing what a difference a Mobility Aid can make to a person's life. Watch this video to learn more about what Variety does for children and families in Australia.
Please consider donating to our fundraising campaign for the Variety. All proceeds go to help children in need to help them gain Mobility, Self Esteem, and Independence.

Back Support You Can Shape to Your Chair
The Cobalt Chair Support Butterfly Cushion is an adjustable lumbar support cushion for wheelchairs, office chairs and day chairs.

Let customers speak for us
from 606 reviewsIt is great just what I wanted
Very very good. Worth the money
A message from the delivery firm the day before with even a am/pm delivery plan would have helped me rearrange a meeting more easily
My brother, just recently arrived in Aged Care, had an old walker which had given good service. He is now less able to get around and the old walker had iffy brakes. So we borrowed another inmate’s “Rolls Royce” Drive walker and he was rapt! Could adjust the arms himself, partner could toss it into her car and the brakes were much easier to use. All in all 10/10!
Definitely 5 star product! Sturdy, glides smoothly, attractive, packaged extraordinarily well and delivered super quickly! Forget flat-packs! Pay for a good quality piece of furniture!
Very helpful. And order was quickly dispatched
Exactly what advertised and exactly what we needed
Great - easy ordering and fully met expectations
I ordered a bedside cabinet on wheels for my 96yr old mum. I did not want a flat pack. I wanted a sturdy, well-made & nice looking piece of furniture. I ordered online. I’m VERY pleased with what I received. Delivery free & arrived here Newcastle in three days. Delivery guy brought it inside & unpacked it for me. The packaging was PRIMO. I cannot overstate how well it was packaged. There was zero chance it would ever get damaged in transit. I attached the three handles which were provided with extra screws AND a screw driver (nice). The cabinet is attractive, moves easily on it’s castors & has a lip around the top to stop items falling off. Quality product well worth the investment. A++++++
Really good quality
Easy to find products online, ordering is very easy very competitive prices and extremely fast delivery
The Assistance Handle has been amazing for my husband who has just had a Quadricep Rupture repair. He used it to help him get in and out of the car whilst keeping his leg straight.
Grab Rail very suitable for our shower
Lightweight yet sturdy perfect for stability
Excellent, folds up neatly to fit in the boot of my daughter’s small car. Takes up little room when dining out.I feel very safe when walking.
