Types of Pressure Mattresses
We keep our range small and focused. Each type suits a different bed and a different need.
Alternating Air Overlays
An alternating air overlay sits on top of your existing mattress. Rows of air cells inflate and deflate in turn, run by a quiet pump that hangs on the footboard. Our 4" single overlay is 10cm deep with 20 cells and holds up to 115kg. The 5" single is 13cm deep with 17 cells, a digital pump and a 155kg weight capacity. Both have alarms for power loss and low pressure.

Hybrid Mattress Replacement Systems
A mattress replacement system takes the place of your mattress altogether. Our hybrid model has 14 air cells with foam inserts, inside a waterproof, wipe-clean cover. Use it as a foam mattress, as a static air mattress with no power, or as an alternating air mattress with the optional pump. It comes in single and king single, 15cm deep, and sits well on an electric bed for home care.

Bariatric Pressure Mattresses
Our 5" King Single Bariatric overlay is 105cm wide and 13cm deep, with a 195kg weight capacity. Its digital pump sets the air pressure to suit the user's weight. If you need more, the hybrid system holds up to 250kg with its pump attached.
Choosing a Pressure Mattress
Start with the bed you already have. Then think about power, noise and weight.
Overlay or Replacement
An overlay is the simpler choice if your current mattress is still in good shape. A replacement system suits an electric bed, where one thick mattress works better than two layers. You'll find more soft layers in our mattress toppers and sheepskin overlays.
Bed Size and Weight
Measure your bed base before you order. Our single overlays are 88cm by 198cm, and king single sizes are 105cm wide. Choose a weight capacity above the user's actual weight. Spending long stretches in a chair too? Pair your mattress with one of our pressure cushions.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does an alternating air mattress work?
A pump fills rows of air cells in a set pattern. As some cells inflate, others deflate, so the body is supported at different points over time. The cycle repeats quietly, day and night.
What are the downsides of an air mattress?
There are a few. A powered model needs a power point near the bed. The pump makes a low hum that some people notice at night. Setup takes a little time, and the alarm sounds if the power drops out. Our hybrid system keeps its foam support without power.
Do I need an overlay or a full replacement mattress?
If your mattress is firm and in good repair, an overlay is usually enough. If you have an electric bed or need a higher weight capacity, a replacement system is often the better fit.
Can I get a pressure mattress funded through NDIS or My Aged Care?
Often, yes. NDIS plans and Support at Home funding may cover a pressure mattress, and an OT assessment is usually part of the process. Check with your plan manager or care coordinator first. Our NDIS FAQ explains the steps.
