Rolyan Sof-Stretch Extension Finger Splint for PIP Joint Extension
Gentle, Steady Finger Straightening with the Rolyan Sof-Stretch Extension Splint
The Rolyan Sof-Stretch Extension Splint uses dynamic force to ease a tight PIP joint into extension, with minimal extension at the knuckle (MCP joint). It suits PIP joint tightness, contractures and boutonniere deformity, and you can shape it to your finger by stretching and pressing the wires.
Why You'll Love the Rolyan Sof-Stretch Extension Splint
- Fits your finger. The plastic-coated wires stretch and press into shape, and they make room when swelling comes and goes.
- Even pressure. An angled distal pad gives full surface contact on the finger, so pressure is spread rather than pinching.
- Easy to put on the right way. A "P" on the proximal pad shows which end sits near the palm.
- Simple to care for. Latex free, and it cleans with warm water and mild soap. Let it air dry before you put it back on.
Everyday joint management
The Sof-Stretch is suited to regular management of fractures, jamming injuries and joint stiffness. Wear it through the day as your therapist directs, rinse it at night and let it dry while you sleep. If the splint needs big changes to fit, the next size up is usually the better choice.
The Rolyan Sof-Stretch Extension Splint in a nutshell
- Dynamic extension: assists the PIP joint into extension.
- Adjustable wires: plastic coated, shaped by hand.
- Angled distal pad: even pressure on the finger.
- Two colours: white or black in every size.
Choosing the right size and colour
Size is set by finger length, measured on the matching finger of your other hand.
- Use the unaffected hand. Measure the same finger on the other hand, held straight.
- Measure the length. Go from the distal palmar crease (where the finger meets the palm) to the distal finger crease (the crease at the last joint).
- Pick the size closest to your measurement. If you're between two sizes, email us. If the splint would need big changes to fit, the next size up is usually the better choice.
- Choose the colour. White or black, in every size.
| Size | Finger length |
| X-Small | 5.1cm |
| Small | 6.4cm |
| Medium | 7.6cm |
| Large | 8.9cm |
| X-Large | 10.2cm |
Is it the right extension splint for you?
- A good fit: PIP joint tightness, contractures and boutonniere deformity, or stiffness after fractures and jamming injuries, where your therapist wants a gentle dynamic stretch.
- Check with your therapist first: on how long to wear it each day, and if there's a lot of swelling.
- Also consider: the Rolyan Sof-Stretch Short Extension Splint if the knuckle needs to bend freely.
If you're unsure whether this is right for you, we recommend speaking with your healthcare provider or hand therapist.

MEET THE FOUNDER
Australian owned and operated by David Thiu, Mobility Shop Direct was founded in 2019 to help all Australians find the right Mobility Aids to maintain their Mobility and Independence.
Whilst working as a Locum Pharmacist throughout Australia, David noticed that many of his patients were frustrated by how hard it was to find mobility aids and by the lack of information available. Most Pharmacies either did not stock any Mobility Aids, or those that did only had a limited range available, with many staff members insufficiently trained. Even when shopping online, most of the sites that did sell mobility aids were difficult to navigate, did not provide enough educational material to assist with the buying process, and did not have a wide enough selection.
To fill this gap in the market, David spent hundreds of hours researching, writing buying guides, and building this brand new site that you're on now. Thanks to David you can now shop, browse and learn about Mobility Aids all in one place in the comfort of your own home, and even have everything delivered to your doorsteps!
Today, we stay true to our roots and are online-only. We plan to stay that way in order to offer our customers the lowest possible factory-direct prices, fastest shipping times, and world-class customer service by phone, email, and live chat. Operating online-only means we can offer all this without sacrificing any of the things that made us excited to start this business in the first place like being able to travel and help people all over the world.
How We Give Back To The Community:
We love to give back to our community. Our love for Mobility Aids extends far beyond our local community. We've partnered with Variety to help Children live a better life with the help of Mobility Aids. It's amazing what a difference a Mobility Aid can make to a person's life. Watch this video to learn more about what Variety does for children and families in Australia.
Please consider donating to our fundraising campaign for the Variety. All proceeds go to help children in need to help them gain Mobility, Self Esteem, and Independence.

Let customers speak for us
from 606 reviewsIt is great just what I wanted
Very very good. Worth the money
A message from the delivery firm the day before with even a am/pm delivery plan would have helped me rearrange a meeting more easily
My brother, just recently arrived in Aged Care, had an old walker which had given good service. He is now less able to get around and the old walker had iffy brakes. So we borrowed another inmate’s “Rolls Royce” Drive walker and he was rapt! Could adjust the arms himself, partner could toss it into her car and the brakes were much easier to use. All in all 10/10!
Definitely 5 star product! Sturdy, glides smoothly, attractive, packaged extraordinarily well and delivered super quickly! Forget flat-packs! Pay for a good quality piece of furniture!
Very helpful. And order was quickly dispatched
Exactly what advertised and exactly what we needed
Great - easy ordering and fully met expectations
I ordered a bedside cabinet on wheels for my 96yr old mum. I did not want a flat pack. I wanted a sturdy, well-made & nice looking piece of furniture. I ordered online. I’m VERY pleased with what I received. Delivery free & arrived here Newcastle in three days. Delivery guy brought it inside & unpacked it for me. The packaging was PRIMO. I cannot overstate how well it was packaged. There was zero chance it would ever get damaged in transit. I attached the three handles which were provided with extra screws AND a screw driver (nice). The cabinet is attractive, moves easily on it’s castors & has a lip around the top to stop items falling off. Quality product well worth the investment. A++++++
Really good quality
Easy to find products online, ordering is very easy very competitive prices and extremely fast delivery
The Assistance Handle has been amazing for my husband who has just had a Quadricep Rupture repair. He used it to help him get in and out of the car whilst keeping his leg straight.
Grab Rail very suitable for our shower

Excellent, folds up neatly to fit in the boot of my daughter’s small car. Takes up little room when dining out.I feel very safe when walking.
