Rolyan Sof-Stretch Short Extension Finger Splint for the PIP Joint
Straighten the PIP joint and keep your knuckle free with the Rolyan Sof-Stretch Short Extension Splint
The Rolyan Sof-Stretch Short Extension Splint gently pulls the PIP joint (the middle finger joint) towards straight. It leaves full movement at the MCP joint (the knuckle). Rolyan makes it for PIP joint tightness and boutonniere deformity. The short design stops before the knuckle, so you can still bend and grip.
Keep using your hand while the splint works
The splint ends before the knuckle, so your hand can still close around a cup or a pen. Meanwhile the wires keep a gentle, steady pull on the middle joint. The angled pad near the fingertip sits flat on the middle section of the finger. That spreads the pressure instead of pressing on one spot.
What's in the Rolyan Sof-Stretch Short Extension Splint
One splint: two pads joined by plastic-coated wires. The proximal pad is marked "P" and goes nearest the palm. It comes in white in five sizes, and in black in Large.
Features
- Dynamic force assists the PIP joint into extension.
- Short length keeps full movement at the MCP joint.
- Angled distal pad gives full surface contact on the middle phalanx, which reduces pressure.
- Plastic-coated wires adjust for finger width and for changes in swelling.
- "P" marking on the proximal pad shows which way round it goes.
- Latex free, hand wash and air dry.
Is it the right short extension splint for you?
- Usually suits: PIP joint tightness and boutonniere deformity, when you want the knuckle (MCP joint) free to bend and grip.
- Latex: latex free.
- Check with your therapist first: on how long to wear it each day.
- Also consider: the longer Rolyan Sof-Stretch Extension Splint, which gives minimal extension at the knuckle as well.
Not sure it's right for you? Ask your healthcare provider or hand therapist.
Choosing the right size and colour
Size is set by finger length, measured on the matching finger of your other hand. Rolyan's size guide is below.
- Use the unaffected hand. Measure the same finger on the other hand, held straight.
- Measure the length. On the palm side, go from the MCP crease (where the finger meets the palm) to the distal finger crease (the crease at the last joint).
- Read the guide. Each size is listed by one length. Pick the size closest to your measurement. Between two sizes? Email us the measurement and we'll help you choose.
- Choose the colour. White comes in every size. Black comes in Large only.

MEET THE FOUNDER
Australian owned and operated by David Thiu, Mobility Shop Direct was founded in 2019 to help all Australians find the right Mobility Aids to maintain their Mobility and Independence.
Whilst working as a Locum Pharmacist throughout Australia, David noticed that many of his patients were frustrated by how hard it was to find mobility aids and by the lack of information available. Most Pharmacies either did not stock any Mobility Aids, or those that did only had a limited range available, with many staff members insufficiently trained. Even when shopping online, most of the sites that did sell mobility aids were difficult to navigate, did not provide enough educational material to assist with the buying process, and did not have a wide enough selection.
To fill this gap in the market, David spent hundreds of hours researching, writing buying guides, and building this brand new site that you're on now. Thanks to David you can now shop, browse and learn about Mobility Aids all in one place in the comfort of your own home, and even have everything delivered to your doorsteps!
Today, we stay true to our roots and are online-only. We plan to stay that way in order to offer our customers the lowest possible factory-direct prices, fastest shipping times, and world-class customer service by phone, email, and live chat. Operating online-only means we can offer all this without sacrificing any of the things that made us excited to start this business in the first place like being able to travel and help people all over the world.
How We Give Back To The Community:
We love to give back to our community. Our love for Mobility Aids extends far beyond our local community. We've partnered with Variety to help Children live a better life with the help of Mobility Aids. It's amazing what a difference a Mobility Aid can make to a person's life. Watch this video to learn more about what Variety does for children and families in Australia.
Please consider donating to our fundraising campaign for the Variety. All proceeds go to help children in need to help them gain Mobility, Self Esteem, and Independence.

Rolyan Sof-Stretch Short Extension Finger Splint for the PIP Joint Reviews
Let customers speak for us
from 606 reviewsIt is great just what I wanted
Very very good. Worth the money
A message from the delivery firm the day before with even a am/pm delivery plan would have helped me rearrange a meeting more easily
My brother, just recently arrived in Aged Care, had an old walker which had given good service. He is now less able to get around and the old walker had iffy brakes. So we borrowed another inmate’s “Rolls Royce” Drive walker and he was rapt! Could adjust the arms himself, partner could toss it into her car and the brakes were much easier to use. All in all 10/10!
Definitely 5 star product! Sturdy, glides smoothly, attractive, packaged extraordinarily well and delivered super quickly! Forget flat-packs! Pay for a good quality piece of furniture!
Very helpful. And order was quickly dispatched
Exactly what advertised and exactly what we needed
Great - easy ordering and fully met expectations
I ordered a bedside cabinet on wheels for my 96yr old mum. I did not want a flat pack. I wanted a sturdy, well-made & nice looking piece of furniture. I ordered online. I’m VERY pleased with what I received. Delivery free & arrived here Newcastle in three days. Delivery guy brought it inside & unpacked it for me. The packaging was PRIMO. I cannot overstate how well it was packaged. There was zero chance it would ever get damaged in transit. I attached the three handles which were provided with extra screws AND a screw driver (nice). The cabinet is attractive, moves easily on it’s castors & has a lip around the top to stop items falling off. Quality product well worth the investment. A++++++
Really good quality
Easy to find products online, ordering is very easy very competitive prices and extremely fast delivery
The Assistance Handle has been amazing for my husband who has just had a Quadricep Rupture repair. He used it to help him get in and out of the car whilst keeping his leg straight.
Grab Rail very suitable for our shower
Lightweight yet sturdy perfect for stability
Excellent, folds up neatly to fit in the boot of my daughter’s small car. Takes up little room when dining out.I feel very safe when walking.
