Stander Assist-A-Tray (2026 Model) Swivel Tray Table with Stand Assist Handle
A Swivel Tray Table and Stand-Up Handle for Your Favourite Chair
The Stander Assist-A-Tray (2026 Model) is a sturdy couch-side handle with a 20 x 15 inch swivel tray attached. Its base sits under the legs of your couch, armchair or lift chair, so the handle is right beside you when you want to stand, and the tray swings in front of you when you want to read, use a laptop or keep the remote close.
Lead time: This new 2026 model is on pre-order. Our Australian supplier currently expects stock to land in late October 2026, and orders are filled first come, first served. Contact us for the latest ETA.
Getting up from a soft, low couch is often the hardest part of settling in for the evening. The Assist-A-Tray gives you a solid handle to push on as you rise and to hold as you lower yourself back down. It also keeps your book, glasses and remote within reach, so you're not getting up and down for every little thing. It looks like part of the furniture, too, so your lounge room still feels like home.
What's New in the 2026 Model
This is the updated version of the Assist-A-Tray. The current model is still available as our Couch Swivel Tray with Cane. Here's how the two compare on the manufacturer's published specs:
| Spec | Current model | 2026 model |
|---|---|---|
| Tray size | 16" x 18" | 20" x 15" |
| Handle height | 34" to 40" | 34.5" to 40.5" |
| Base adjustment | 20" to 36" | 19" to 32.5" |
| Tray height | 26" to 32" | 26" to 32" |
| Handle weight limit | 250 lbs | 250 lbs (113 kg) |
In short, the 2026 model has a reshaped tray, a handle that sits half an inch higher at both ends of its range, and a base that suits furniture with legs 19 to 32.5 inches apart. Check your chair against that range before you order (see below).
How the Assist-A-Tray Helps Around the Lounge Room
- Sturdy stand-up handle: the ergonomic handle supports a user weight of up to 113 kg (250 lbs), so you have a firm grip as you rise from or sit back into your seat.
- Tray swivels and pivots 360 degrees: swing it in front of you for a book or laptop, then push it aside when it's time to stand up.
- Cup holder and utensil compartment included: your drink, remote and glasses stay put instead of sliding off the edge.
- Adjusts to suit you: the tray sets anywhere from 26 to 32 inches high and the handle from 34.5 to 40.5 inches, so it works for different seat heights and different people.
- Fits most four-legged furniture: use it with sofas, armchairs, lift chairs and recliners, on either side.
- Non-slip base: grippy pads add stability and protect your floors.
Will the Assist-A-Tray Fit Your Chair?
The Assist-A-Tray is held in place by the weight of your furniture. The front and back legs of your couch or chair sit on its base pads, so it needs:
- Four legs: chairs with a round or pedestal base won't work.
- Legs 19 to 32.5 inches apart from front to back. Measure your chair before ordering.
- Solid, heavy furniture: lightweight chairs can shift when you lean on the handle.
It isn't made to stand on its own or to be used with a bed. The tray swivels and rotates but doesn't tilt from front to back.
Good to Know Before You Use It
- Stander's instructions say not to use the tray for hot food or hot drinks, and never to sit, stand or lean your weight on the tray itself.
- Check now and then that it's still sitting correctly under the furniture, and stop using it if it shifts until it's put back in place.
- Stander advises it isn't suitable for people living with dementia or Alzheimer's, or anyone who is restless, confused, sedated or frail.
If you're unsure whether it suits your needs, we recommend speaking with your occupational therapist or healthcare provider.

MEET THE FOUNDER
Australian owned and operated by David Thiu, Mobility Shop Direct was founded in 2019 to help all Australians find the right Mobility Aids to maintain their Mobility and Independence.
Whilst working as a Locum Pharmacist throughout Australia, David noticed that many of his patients were frustrated by how hard it was to find mobility aids and by the lack of information available. Most Pharmacies either did not stock any Mobility Aids, or those that did only had a limited range available, with many staff members insufficiently trained. Even when shopping online, most of the sites that did sell mobility aids were difficult to navigate, did not provide enough educational material to assist with the buying process, and did not have a wide enough selection.
To fill this gap in the market, David spent hundreds of hours researching, writing buying guides, and building this brand new site that you're on now. Thanks to David you can now shop, browse and learn about Mobility Aids all in one place in the comfort of your own home, and even have everything delivered to your doorsteps!
Today, we stay true to our roots and are online-only. We plan to stay that way in order to offer our customers the lowest possible factory-direct prices, fastest shipping times, and world-class customer service by phone, email, and live chat. Operating online-only means we can offer all this without sacrificing any of the things that made us excited to start this business in the first place like being able to travel and help people all over the world.
How We Give Back To The Community:
We love to give back to our community. Our love for Mobility Aids extends far beyond our local community. We've partnered with Variety to help Children live a better life with the help of Mobility Aids. It's amazing what a difference a Mobility Aid can make to a person's life. Watch this video to learn more about what Variety does for children and families in Australia.
Please consider donating to our fundraising campaign for the Variety. All proceeds go to help children in need to help them gain Mobility, Self Esteem, and Independence.

Stander Assist-A-Tray (2026 Model) Swivel Tray Table with Stand Assist Handle Reviews
Let customers speak for us
from 606 reviewsIt is great just what I wanted
Very very good. Worth the money
A message from the delivery firm the day before with even a am/pm delivery plan would have helped me rearrange a meeting more easily
My brother, just recently arrived in Aged Care, had an old walker which had given good service. He is now less able to get around and the old walker had iffy brakes. So we borrowed another inmate’s “Rolls Royce” Drive walker and he was rapt! Could adjust the arms himself, partner could toss it into her car and the brakes were much easier to use. All in all 10/10!
Definitely 5 star product! Sturdy, glides smoothly, attractive, packaged extraordinarily well and delivered super quickly! Forget flat-packs! Pay for a good quality piece of furniture!
Very helpful. And order was quickly dispatched
Exactly what advertised and exactly what we needed
Great - easy ordering and fully met expectations
I ordered a bedside cabinet on wheels for my 96yr old mum. I did not want a flat pack. I wanted a sturdy, well-made & nice looking piece of furniture. I ordered online. I’m VERY pleased with what I received. Delivery free & arrived here Newcastle in three days. Delivery guy brought it inside & unpacked it for me. The packaging was PRIMO. I cannot overstate how well it was packaged. There was zero chance it would ever get damaged in transit. I attached the three handles which were provided with extra screws AND a screw driver (nice). The cabinet is attractive, moves easily on it’s castors & has a lip around the top to stop items falling off. Quality product well worth the investment. A++++++
Really good quality
Easy to find products online, ordering is very easy very competitive prices and extremely fast delivery
The Assistance Handle has been amazing for my husband who has just had a Quadricep Rupture repair. He used it to help him get in and out of the car whilst keeping his leg straight.
Grab Rail very suitable for our shower
Lightweight yet sturdy perfect for stability
Excellent, folds up neatly to fit in the boot of my daughter’s small car. Takes up little room when dining out.I feel very safe when walking.
