Stander Double Handle Floor to Ceiling Grab Bar
Two Handles on One Steady Pole, for Support to Sit, Stand and Balance at Home
The Stander Double Handle Floor to Ceiling Grab Bar is a tension-mounted pole with two grab handles. It wedges firmly between a flat floor and ceiling with no drilling, so you can put a steady grip exactly where you need it: beside the bed, next to your favourite armchair or by the toilet.
Lead time: New to Australia and available to order now, dispatched as soon as the next shipment lands. Contact us for the latest ETA.
Wobbles often happen in the moments between sitting and standing, when there's nothing solid within reach. A floor to ceiling pole fixes that without renovating, and with a second handle you can hold on with both hands, or keep one hand on the pole while the other reaches for the bedside table or a walking aid. It's a simple way to keep moving around your own home with confidence.
Double Handle vs Single Handle: What's the Difference?
A standard floor to ceiling pole, like our Ceiling to Floor Grab Bar with Handle, gives you one handle to hold. The Double Handle model gives you two, which changes how you can use it:
- Two grip points instead of one: more leverage as you push up to stand, and something to steady yourself on once you're upright.
- Room for both hands: hold on with both hands when you need the extra support, for example getting up from a low bed.
- Handles set to suit you: you choose where each handle points during installation. Once the pole is tightened the handles lock in place and won't move, so set them up with your daily routine in mind.
- Same easy install: like a single-handle pole, it stands on tension alone, with no drilling.
Prefer one handle, or a different style? We also stock the Ceiling to Floor Grab Bar with Curved Handle and the Security Pole for Elderly.
Why Families Choose This Floor to Ceiling Grab Bar
- Support to sit and stand: rated to a maximum user weight of 136 kg (300 lbs), giving you a firm hold as you get up and sit down.
- Fits a wide range of ceilings: adjusts to flat ceilings from 2.13 to 2.90 m (7' to 9'6").
- No drilling, no marks: it installs with tension between floor and ceiling. Screws are included if you'd like to fix the top beam into your ceiling joists for extra security.
- Built to last: zinc-plated steel with a powder-coated finish.
- White or Black: pick the colour that suits your room.
- Use it where you need it: beside the bed, next to a favourite chair, near the toilet, or at the top and bottom of the stairs to step off a stairlift.
Where It Can and Can't Go
- It needs a flat floor and a flat ceiling between 2.13 and 2.90 m high.
- It can't go inside a shower or bathtub, on a floor that's often wet, on a loose rug, or on an angled, vaulted, suspended or panelled ceiling.
- Leave walking space all the way around the pole. Stander warns that placing it too close to a bed, wall or furniture could trap someone between them in a fall.
- Check it daily to make sure it's still tight and the floor around it is dry. If it moves when used, take it down and reinstall it.
Stander advises the pole isn't suitable for people living with dementia or Alzheimer's, or anyone who is restless, confused, sedated or frail. If you rent or live in a retirement village, check with your landlord or village manager before installing. And if you're unsure whether it suits your needs, we recommend speaking with your occupational therapist or healthcare provider.

MEET THE FOUNDER
Australian owned and operated by David Thiu, Mobility Shop Direct was founded in 2019 to help all Australians find the right Mobility Aids to maintain their Mobility and Independence.
Whilst working as a Locum Pharmacist throughout Australia, David noticed that many of his patients were frustrated by how hard it was to find mobility aids and by the lack of information available. Most Pharmacies either did not stock any Mobility Aids, or those that did only had a limited range available, with many staff members insufficiently trained. Even when shopping online, most of the sites that did sell mobility aids were difficult to navigate, did not provide enough educational material to assist with the buying process, and did not have a wide enough selection.
To fill this gap in the market, David spent hundreds of hours researching, writing buying guides, and building this brand new site that you're on now. Thanks to David you can now shop, browse and learn about Mobility Aids all in one place in the comfort of your own home, and even have everything delivered to your doorsteps!
Today, we stay true to our roots and are online-only. We plan to stay that way in order to offer our customers the lowest possible factory-direct prices, fastest shipping times, and world-class customer service by phone, email, and live chat. Operating online-only means we can offer all this without sacrificing any of the things that made us excited to start this business in the first place like being able to travel and help people all over the world.
How We Give Back To The Community:
We love to give back to our community. Our love for Mobility Aids extends far beyond our local community. We've partnered with Variety to help Children live a better life with the help of Mobility Aids. It's amazing what a difference a Mobility Aid can make to a person's life. Watch this video to learn more about what Variety does for children and families in Australia.
Please consider donating to our fundraising campaign for the Variety. All proceeds go to help children in need to help them gain Mobility, Self Esteem, and Independence.

Stander Double Handle Floor to Ceiling Grab Bar Reviews
Let customers speak for us
from 606 reviewsIt is great just what I wanted
Very very good. Worth the money
A message from the delivery firm the day before with even a am/pm delivery plan would have helped me rearrange a meeting more easily
My brother, just recently arrived in Aged Care, had an old walker which had given good service. He is now less able to get around and the old walker had iffy brakes. So we borrowed another inmate’s “Rolls Royce” Drive walker and he was rapt! Could adjust the arms himself, partner could toss it into her car and the brakes were much easier to use. All in all 10/10!
Definitely 5 star product! Sturdy, glides smoothly, attractive, packaged extraordinarily well and delivered super quickly! Forget flat-packs! Pay for a good quality piece of furniture!
Very helpful. And order was quickly dispatched
Exactly what advertised and exactly what we needed
Great - easy ordering and fully met expectations
I ordered a bedside cabinet on wheels for my 96yr old mum. I did not want a flat pack. I wanted a sturdy, well-made & nice looking piece of furniture. I ordered online. I’m VERY pleased with what I received. Delivery free & arrived here Newcastle in three days. Delivery guy brought it inside & unpacked it for me. The packaging was PRIMO. I cannot overstate how well it was packaged. There was zero chance it would ever get damaged in transit. I attached the three handles which were provided with extra screws AND a screw driver (nice). The cabinet is attractive, moves easily on it’s castors & has a lip around the top to stop items falling off. Quality product well worth the investment. A++++++
Really good quality
Easy to find products online, ordering is very easy very competitive prices and extremely fast delivery
The Assistance Handle has been amazing for my husband who has just had a Quadricep Rupture repair. He used it to help him get in and out of the car whilst keeping his leg straight.
Grab Rail very suitable for our shower
Lightweight yet sturdy perfect for stability
Excellent, folds up neatly to fit in the boot of my daughter’s small car. Takes up little room when dining out.I feel very safe when walking.
