Open Femur Fracture Wound with Bleeding | Training Aid
Practise Real Haemorrhage Control, Not Just Wound Assessment
An open femur fracture without visible bleeding only teaches half the scenario. This wearable open femur fracture wound with bleeding simulation pulls on in seconds and gives your trainees a live bleed to manage, so they leave the session having actually packed a wound and controlled a bleed, not just looked at one.
Why Trainers Choose This Bleeding Wound Trainer
- Inbuilt bleeding tubing: connects to a pump or syringe (sold separately) so you can drive a controlled bleed on demand, which means trainees practise real pressure and packing technique instead of miming it on a dry prop.
- Fast pull-on application: a light dusting of talc powder and the wound slides on in seconds, which means less setup time between trainees and more time actually running the bleeding-control drill.
- Washable and reusable: wipe down the wound and tubing after each run and it is ready for the next scenario, keeping your cost per session down instead of buying a disposable wound each time.
- 11 skin tone options: match the wound to a realistic mix of patients, so your bleeding-control training reflects the diversity of who your trainees will actually treat.
- Works with stage blood or fresh scab: layer extra visual realism around the wound edges on top of the tubing bleed when a scenario calls for it.
How the Bleeding Simulation Works
The wound has a built-in tube running from the wound site to an exit point you connect to a pump or a standard syringe. Fill the pump or syringe with stage blood, connect it, and depress it during the scenario to drive a visible bleed at the wound. Applying it:
- Dust the leg lightly with talc powder so the silicone wound slides on easily.
- Pull the wound over the upper leg and position it over the femur area.
- Connect a pump or syringe (not included) to the inbuilt tubing and load it with stage blood.
- Run the scenario: trainees assess, pack the wound, and apply pressure or a tourniquet while you control the bleed rate.
- Disconnect, wipe the wound and tubing down, and it is ready for the next trainee.
It works on role players and compatible manikins, so it fits whichever training format your organisation already runs. Note that the pump or syringe used to drive the bleed is not included and needs to be sourced separately.
Who This Suits
This bleeding wound simulation is built for:
- First aid and paramedic trainers running haemorrhage control and tourniquet application drills
- Nursing and medical student simulation labs practising wound packing under pressure
- Emergency response, rescue, and defence training organisations running realistic trauma scenarios
- Anyone running mass-casualty drills who needs a visible, controllable bleed between trainees

MEET THE FOUNDER
Australian owned and operated by David Thiu, Mobility Shop Direct was founded in 2019 to help all Australians find the right Mobility Aids to maintain their Mobility and Independence.
Whilst working as a Locum Pharmacist throughout Australia, David noticed that many of his patients were frustrated by how hard it was to find mobility aids and by the lack of information available. Most Pharmacies either did not stock any Mobility Aids, or those that did only had a limited range available, with many staff members insufficiently trained. Even when shopping online, most of the sites that did sell mobility aids were difficult to navigate, did not provide enough educational material to assist with the buying process, and did not have a wide enough selection.
To fill this gap in the market, David spent hundreds of hours researching, writing buying guides, and building this brand new site that you're on now. Thanks to David you can now shop, browse and learn about Mobility Aids all in one place in the comfort of your own home, and even have everything delivered to your doorsteps!
Today, we stay true to our roots and are online-only. We plan to stay that way in order to offer our customers the lowest possible factory-direct prices, fastest shipping times, and world-class customer service by phone, email, and live chat. Operating online-only means we can offer all this without sacrificing any of the things that made us excited to start this business in the first place like being able to travel and help people all over the world.
How We Give Back To The Community:
We love to give back to our community. Our love for Mobility Aids extends far beyond our local community. We've partnered with Variety to help Children live a better life with the help of Mobility Aids. It's amazing what a difference a Mobility Aid can make to a person's life. Watch this video to learn more about what Variety does for children and families in Australia.
Please consider donating to our fundraising campaign for the Variety. All proceeds go to help children in need to help them gain Mobility, Self Esteem, and Independence.

Let customers speak for us
from 606 reviewsIt is great just what I wanted
Very very good. Worth the money
A message from the delivery firm the day before with even a am/pm delivery plan would have helped me rearrange a meeting more easily
My brother, just recently arrived in Aged Care, had an old walker which had given good service. He is now less able to get around and the old walker had iffy brakes. So we borrowed another inmate’s “Rolls Royce” Drive walker and he was rapt! Could adjust the arms himself, partner could toss it into her car and the brakes were much easier to use. All in all 10/10!
Definitely 5 star product! Sturdy, glides smoothly, attractive, packaged extraordinarily well and delivered super quickly! Forget flat-packs! Pay for a good quality piece of furniture!
Very helpful. And order was quickly dispatched
Exactly what advertised and exactly what we needed
Great - easy ordering and fully met expectations
I ordered a bedside cabinet on wheels for my 96yr old mum. I did not want a flat pack. I wanted a sturdy, well-made & nice looking piece of furniture. I ordered online. I’m VERY pleased with what I received. Delivery free & arrived here Newcastle in three days. Delivery guy brought it inside & unpacked it for me. The packaging was PRIMO. I cannot overstate how well it was packaged. There was zero chance it would ever get damaged in transit. I attached the three handles which were provided with extra screws AND a screw driver (nice). The cabinet is attractive, moves easily on it’s castors & has a lip around the top to stop items falling off. Quality product well worth the investment. A++++++
Really good quality
Easy to find products online, ordering is very easy very competitive prices and extremely fast delivery
The Assistance Handle has been amazing for my husband who has just had a Quadricep Rupture repair. He used it to help him get in and out of the car whilst keeping his leg straight.
Grab Rail very suitable for our shower
Lightweight yet sturdy perfect for stability
Excellent, folds up neatly to fit in the boot of my daughter’s small car. Takes up little room when dining out.I feel very safe when walking.
